Moving into Spring

Hello everybody!

Apologies for the slightly late post this month. Don’t worry I’m in the naughty corner.

Right, who is ready for some warmer weather? I know I am!

A great time to start getting out and about more. Soak in some of the natural feel-good chemical Serotonin.

A chance to re-energise, start afresh.

Find someone with the same interests as yourself. Start a new group off, keeping in mind the necessary safeguarding protocols.

Could be a walking group with a few friends, could be a crafts group at a local community.

I started off my own group several years ago called Well Raver, a dance group that promotes positive wellbeing in the community. It did wonders for my own wellbeing and I have come so far since running this group.

Take a first small step, make one positive change and you’ll be surprised at how much you will be rewarded for doing this.

Together as a community, let’s make 2025 a brilliant year.

Shout out to our valued Community Development Workers

I wanted to take this opportunity to give a massive shout out to Roo and Jody who are doing excellent work for us in West Devon and North Devon.

Our Community Development workers are the people that are activity getting out in the community promoting our message of Hope, Opportunity and Choice.

You are doing great work and as a board we always look forward to receiving your valued reports every month. We feel blessed to be working with you.

Podcasts

We are currently looking for people who are doing inspiring work in the community to share their stories. We are looking for people to share their powerful stories of recovery with the aim of giving people hope that they can also take the fight to their own battles with mental heath.

If you think doing a Podcast with Recovery Devon will be of interest to you then please E-mail hello@recoverydevon.co.uk

Join our aDoddle Community Map!

We are partners with the wonderful folk at aDoddle. They are working with you and your community to make it as easy for everyone to find help and support locally as it is to find a hotel or restaurant on Google Maps.

By Mapping UK Charities, Community Projects, Groups & Organisations together we are creating a national resource for use at a local level. It’s free to create a profile on aDoddle, and this can hold all sorts of information, making it great for small groups who can’t afford a website.

Do you have a not-for-profit community mental health offer you’d like us to share?

With thousands of social media followers and newsletter subscribers across Devon, we’d love to help you find your community. Send an email (hello@recoverydevon.co.uk) with “Roundup” in the subject header.
