Last few days to apply for Community Development Worker!

We are looking for a new Community Development worker for West/Mid Devon.

Working two days a week for an initial period of one year, the community development worker will work to establish a more tangible, accessible and effective network of recovery-supportive services and resources, for example, by:

  • Acting as a point of contact between people in need and resources in the community or health service
  • Assessing how easy it is to access services and opportunities and how people may find themselves excluded
  • Offering support for new initiatives
  • Championing the Recovery ethos and lived experience voice
  • Delivering Recovery Training and helping to facilitate other community events

Recovery Devon has no office base so the postholder will be based at their own home and will work within a limited geographical area, this role is for West/Mid Devon. This means that the ability to travel is essential. They will be joining a small team that already covers Exeter, East Devon and North Devon.

We are looking for someone with an awareness of what matters to people living with mental health challenges, with experience of voluntary or community work. Applications from people with personal experience of mental health difficulties are particularly welcomed.
