Voluntary Support Scheme

Website: http://www.voluntarysupportscheme.org.uk/index.html
The Voluntary Support Scheme is a small local charity based in Mid-Devon which links volunteers with people who are going through a rough patch (anxiety, depression, isolation). They also run a self-help group.
When we experience emotional distress we can lose our confidence in our ability to make relationships, mix with other people socially, or take up old hobbies or activities. As a consequence we can become lonely and isolated and have few opportunities to enjoy everyday life.
Their purpose is to boost people's self esteem and enable them to have confidence in their own abilities and support them during their journey back to ordinariness.
