THE TRIANGLE OF CARE - Carers Included:

A Best Practice Guide in Acute Mental Health Care

Download the Guide here    .     Triangle_of_Care_Cover

This guide is the result of collaboration between The Princess Royal Trust for Carers (PRTC) and The National Mental Health Development Unit (NMHDU). The title refers to the essential 3-way relationship between professionals, people who use services, their carers and families.

The guide emphasises the need for better local strategic involvement of carers and families in the care-planning and treatment of people experiencing mental ill-health and calls for better partnership working between people who use services, their carers and providers of services in order to achieve the best possible outcomes.

As Supporters

News, January 2011
Torbay now has a Carers' Forum, complete with its own website:
http://www.torbaycarersforum.co.uk//index.php

People who support or care for loved ones with mental health difficulties have many issues of their own to cope with.

This part of the website will look at some of the ways supporters can keep themselves well, alongside maintaining their helping role.

While we hope to add further information in future, for the moment we will just make the following excellent guide to confidentiality for carers more widely available.

Carers and Confidentiality

(Devon Partnership Trust, 2008, pdf, 12 pages).
