Alternative to Care - A Community Recovery Service
This service has been developed to provide a high support service in the community that offers an alternative to residential care or hospital admission across Devon.

Be Involved Devon
Be Involved Devon (BID) is helping people in Devon to have a say about mental health and wellbeing services by enabling involvement.

The Bridge Collective (Exeter)
A Community Interest Company who are building a democratic community of mutual support run by people who have experiences, beliefs, and feelings that have sometimes been labelled as mental illness.

Clarity (Barnstaple)
Clarity is a mental health support service based in Barnstaple. Services are all run by and for people with lived experience and offered to anyone who believes their mental well being will benefit.

Community Care Trust (South Devon)
The Community Care Trust is a voluntary sector provider of a range of services across South Devon. All their services are based on a shared approach to building the emotional health and well being of those who look to them for support.

Cool Recovery (South Devon)
Cool Recovery offers a range of activities and opportunities for people, family and friends affected by mental health issues who are on the road to recovery and ready and willing to make changes in their lives.

Devon Floating Support Service (Rethink Mental Illness)
Devon Floating Support is a housing related support service working with people aged between 18-65 who have high and complex mental health needs. Support is primarily provided on a one to one basis within the individual's own home and local community.

Devon Community Opprtunities (Rethink Mental Illness)
Devon Community Opportunities provides a range of support, including a variety of group work and one-to-one support, across Devon. Rethink community support services are designed to enable people affected by severe mental illness to achieve their full potential and recover a better quality of life.

Education Link provides a comprehensive range of advice, support, guidance and educational opportunities, for adults with mental health and emotional problems.

Gardening for Health (Totnes)
Gardening for Health provides gentle gardening to suit how you are today, with cheerful and expert teachers.
It gives a chance to learn how you can grow vegetables and is a good place to enjoy yourself and meet others.

Insider Art
works with other practitioners to offer courses and trainings to people interested in arts and health related projects.They also offer art psychotherapy, supervision, and mentoring support for artists and others.

Mind in Exeter & East Devon (Phew)
Mind in Exeter & East Devon is a local charity aiming to campaign for and provide good quality local mental health services. They are transferring their services to a new Social Enterprise called Phew (Devon) – Promoting Health and Emotional Wellbeing.

The Reader Organisation (Exeter)
The Reader Organisation runs Recovery Reading Groups at Exeter and Plymstock Libraries.A chance to listen to great stories and poems read aloud. Share responses if you want to and have a cup of tea. 

Torbay and Southern Devon Care Trust
Torbay and Southern Devon Care Trust are the NHS organisation responsible for providing and buying (commissioning) health and adult social care services in Torbay and community health services in the Southern Devon area.

Torrington Mental Health Support Group
This self help group runs every Monday, 1.30 to 3pm, at Community information Centre, 'Panamart', 14 South Street, Torrington. EX38 8AF

Voluntary Support Scheme (Mid-Devon)
The Voluntary Support Scheme is a small local charity based in Mid-Devon which links volunteers with people who are going through a rough patch (anxiety, depression, isolation). They also run a self-help group.

WAND Mental Health Helpline (Devon)
The WAND Mental Health Helpline is based in Barnstaple and has been helping people in Devon with mental health issues, their carers, family & friends over the phone since 1999.

Wild Things Project (Exeter)
This has been running very successfully out of Russell Clinic at Wonford House hospital in Exeter, Devon since 2001. It gives people staying there the opportunity to get out and about across Devon and to participate in a wide variety of outward bound activities.

Women's Network (Exeter and Area)
"The Exeter Women’s Network was started by a small group of women who recognise the value of mutual support and friendship between women. Our aim is to break isolation and empower women who may have become socially isolated, emotionally distressed or low in confidence."

The Yarner Trust (North Devon)
'Inspiring Sustainable & Creative Living in North Devon'. The Yarner Trust runs courses, a summer camp, educational visits and events. They have a range of volunteer opportunities and work with like minded organisations.

Torbay Recovery Forum
All are welcome to the Forum. It aims to bring together people from across the Bay with an interest in Recovery—whether themselves recovering from mental distress, or supporters/friends, or workers—to share ideas and information in a supportive and friendly network.

Chard Intentional Peer Support Group (Somerset)
The Group says: "Intentional peer support is peer support with an intention of moving towards what you value in life as steps towards your own recovery."

Dorset Mental Health Forum
Dorset Mental Health Forum provide information and signposting for people using mental health services and their carers, as well as for other interested parties such as members of the general public and the statutory services.. They directly employ People who use services and people with mental health problems whenever possible.
