Newsletter Relaunched

We are pleased to present the relaunch of the Recovery Devon Newsletter.

Please click here to download it.

This is an exciting year! There is a drive for more person-centred provision and exploring valued approaches to Recovery. Recovery Devon has an important opportunity to work with you to focus on service improvement, hope, and to amplify our collective voice.

Thank you to all who have made this possible with your enthusiasm, commitment and belief in Recovery. We aim for better futures for those with mental health difficulties.

This is our first newsletter for three years. We have been funded by Devon Partnership Trust via Re-think Mental Illness with an expectation that we can become self funding in the future. We aim shortly to become a Community Interest Company committed to the work and practice that can make recovering a meaningful life truly possible.
We welcome your interest.

A fine example is Project Hope, run by Jo Baker, of the North Essex PCT Cluster.

The Project has started a number of really exciting initiatives.

Two recent Newsletters are available here:

‘A guide to developing and commissioning non-traditional providers to support the self management of people with long term conditions’

This guide, published in May 2011, was written to support the Year of Care Programme. This programme set out to demonstrate how routine care can be redesigned and commissioned to provide a personalised approach for people with long term conditions (LTCs) and used diabetes as an exemplar.

The suggestions are very much in line with the Recovery oriented approaches supported by Recovery Devon. The Guide calls for much wider commissioning of ‘Non-Traditional Providers’. These might include a wide range of community-based groups and supports, such as cooking groups, community gardening, art and craft groups, etc.
