In December 2006, at a meeting of the Partnerships in Mental Health Recovery Group, it was decided that we wanted to identify how the WRAP was being received and used throughout Devon. At a meeting of the STR Steering Group, it was decided that the following questions needed to be answered in order to provide evidence on the WRAP:

• How can mental health services support self management?
• What is the experience of people with STaR training in promoting WRAP?
• Does WRAP make a difference? We can have various beliefs about that but the only way of really finding out is to take a careful look and to measure the changes we are hoping to create.

Dr Glen Roberts, Consultant in Rehabilitation and Recovery Exeter, agreed to lead the research supported by his SHO Dr Wilson Igbrude. The Audit team would also be supported by Laurie Davidson, Lead for STaR training and development, Devon Partnership Trust, Richard Brabrook, WRAP trainer and Lead for the RecoveryDevon Website and Owain Winfield, previously of CCT now of MIND.

During January 2007, questionnaires will be sent out to all the Support Time and Recovery Workers inviting them to participate in the audit by completing a questionnaire which would then be returned by post / email to the audit team for analysis. The findings will be posted here, once analyised.
