From the back cover: Is the art of a lyracist on a par with that of the poet? Despite the fact that both skills provoke emotion and thought in their audiences, many purists stubbonly dismiss the writer's craft as being second-rate. Those who argue against this blinkered point of view will not be disappointed with David McLellan's excellent collection of song lyrics. |

Compagnie Giulia is a group of musicians who have created a CD The carers worker at Mind East Devon, sings in a six piece medieval band, Compagnie Giulia (pronounced company Julia!). They do concerts and all sorts of other events around Devon, and have recently brought out a CD. Meg also teaches singing, either with groups or individuals, in a very relaxed and supportive atmosphere, and also performs a folk music repertoire. Singing has so many benefits she could write a dissertation, but don’t worry; she’s not going to! |

| I had this vision In a dream the night before That all the worlds riches were given to the poor Plenty of water And litres of fuel Governed by gentiles By only one rule Peace in our lifetime And tending to the name with goodness of spirit And called by first name. |

The Carers Perspective is written by Margaret Branch "The book is written from the perspective of the carer, as a family member, where another member suffers from a serious mental illness. I have listened to many carers talking about their plight when mental illness strikes the family. This book aims to guide the carer through the available services to know which professionals have the expertise to help and to find out what services and treatments might be available." |
The Carers Perspective can be purchased from MIND Carers and Relatives Projects in Exeter and East Devon. Price £5.00 + (P&P) Please contact Meg Compton on 01404 549508, |
